POSITION : FULL-TIME PHYSIOLOGY INSTRUCTOR at Bridgetown International University School of Medicine

BIUSM is one of the fastest-growing accredited medical schools located in the capital city of Bridgetown on the Caribbean Island of Barbados. NATURE OF THE POSITION
The instructor will teach classes within the approved discipline using various teaching modalities. In addition, the instructor shall be responsible for maintaining and updating the curriculum relevant to the assigned instructional area.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver instruction in all areas of physiology throughout the system-based medical curriculum.
- Prepare, evaluate, and revise courses and course materials.
- Upload all relevant course lecture materials in the LMS platform by established deadlines.
- Utilize approved textbooks and follow course objectives and evaluation standards.
- Maintain organized sets of course and student records.
- Enforce the policies and regulations of the University.
- Maintain scheduled days and class hours.
- Record attendance for each class session in the LMS platform.
- Adhere to Exam Question Preparation, Upload & Review policies.
- Notify the Dean whenever assigned duties cannot be performed.
- Keep current in academic field(s).
- Work collegially with faculty and staff.
- Perform other related duties including examination proctoring.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physiology or aligned biomedical field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching Physiology at medical school level.
- Understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic student backgrounds.

- At least 3 years of delivering instruction in Anatomy at the medical school level.
- Minimum 1 year experience teaching using the Anatomage Table.
- Understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic student backgrounds.
